More organisations are beginning to understand the true value of real Emotional Intelligence.  But with so many training and hr companies offering what they label 'Emotional Intelligence training courses', and so few actually being qualified or experienced in the subject, it is easy for a trusting business leader to be fooled in to an 'Emperor's new clothes' situation.

Highly engaging...

We were looking to support our management team across the business with training but we weren't sure where to start. Summit were very helpful and recommended their immersive two day People Management Essentials course.

It was tailored to suit our needs following a questionnaire which was sent to each delegate for completion prior to the training dates. This ensured that we covered the topics that were important to our management team.

The trainer was very knowledgeable and likeable. The training was delivered with confident enthusiasm and energy. Everyone agreed to have found it highly engaging with a perfect balance of theory and practical, with time seeming to pass very quickly. 

There were plenty of thought-provoking ideas which lead to tips and nuggets of advice for managing a team that can be applied day to day. Although our group had a mixture of managers in terms of experience, the course content ensured that there were significant takeaways for everyone involved.

It was comforting to hear from colleagues that there is an overlap in the challenges that all we all face as managers. The course was beneficial in terms of team building and introduced us to the idea of coaching one another during one of the practical exercises. 

Following the training, it was decided that we would introduce a central channel where we can ask one another for support and share knowledge for our mutual benefit. We are also looking into formal coaching/mentoring where more experienced managers can coach the less experienced to help them manage their teams more effectively.
